SHARING our home journey and family happenings through STORYTELLING and connection.
It all began in November of 2020 when I started sharing what I like to call, my first solo DIY therapy project -- more on that, here. I started sharing our life happenings on Instagram, where the primary focus was our home design + DIY. While that was the majority of the scene at MJD, I really felt like we were leaving out the meat (literally) of our lifestyle as a whole. And that my friends, is how Mrsjessicadarling.com was born!
When we aren't covered in paint and sawdust, we also enjoy sharing our love for cooking delicious foods (like ALL foods, we don't discriminate, although Thai is our fave) our casual family lifestyle with our three kids, and all the in between!

THE FAM
Jeff and Jessica

Our family currently lives in Beavercreek, Ohio, which is also where Jeff and I started dating as sophomores in high school (2002). As a matter of fact, the first time we ever hung out my Dad drove us to the local craft store, where we picked up materials to build a small village for an English class book project -- and THAT was the start of many DIY's together.
What's the best DIY we've ever done together you ask? Easy! (and V cheesy) We'd say our three incredibly kind and loving kids, Owen (9), Lucas (7) and Katherine (5). Speaking of family, we feel extremely blessed to live very close to both sets of our parents, siblings, grandparents, and more! Family is so important to us, which is why we love creating spaces that are comfortable, inviting, and have our family and friends coming back again and again!

We're high school sweethearts and have been dating since sophomore year
Jessica is half Thai, but Jeff does all the Thai cooking (khob khun kha, JD!)
Jeff switched careers later in life and now has his dream job as a pilot in the Air Force
we have a full woodshop in our home, and spend many of date nights tinkering in there
Jeff is a phenomenal cook, and does 98% of the cooking + baking. AKA Dale's Diner est. 2008
Jessica is also a labor + delivery RN, and has been helping catch babies since 2009
